Luongos

Canucks commentary/miscellaneous. H. Sedins is my Canucks photo/gifblog.

"No, it’s not full-on that we’re trying to find him a new home. What [Luongo] indicated was that if we felt a change was necessary, he would do whatever was best for the team once we made that decision. And that’s all he said. We haven’t come to the conclusion yet what’s in the best interests of the team and Roberto is going to be part of the process. I talked to him again last week to see how he was feeling and we’re going to start moving ahead now that we’ve cleared up some other issues. We’ll start looking at where we want to go with this situation and others.”

-Mike Gillis explains that AV did not mean that Roberto Luongo has asked for a trade. The comment that was made was taken out of context. As of now, Luongo HAS NOT asked for a trade."

I found out today that AV confirmed Luongo requested to be traded. Honestly, I’m not surprised; Luongo knows given the decision made in the last three games of the post-season means he won’t have the upper hand from here on. Mike Gillis also doesn’t ask his players to waive their NTC. Not only is Lu putting his team in front, Gillis also maintains his integrity. It’s absolutely disheartening to me and this feels as worst as losing in Game 7 of the SCF last year (which was NOT entirely his fault, FFS) if not even more. Luongo was one of the first Canucks I fell in love with. He’s such a talented goalie who has, yes, had bad games like every other goalie and put up with an incredibly unforgiving fan base. I worry for Schneider next year and it’s likely he’ll have to put up with the same thing now that he’ll hold the reigns with Eddie Lack as back up.

I know for the remainder of this offseason I’ll be ready to prepare to adopt a second team and plan to watch as many games as I can, though admittedly while I want him to go to the East I’ll have a hard time finding some free time to watch his games being at 4 in the afternoon. I’ll also be looking to buy my next Luongo shersey of his new team, regardless of whoever that is. This situation is so disappointing and embarrassing for those who are such huge fans of him, but we all wish him the best. I want Luongo to win everything especially of course the Holy Grail; he’s one of the Canucks who absolutely deserves it and hope one day him winning on another team will make this fan base regret treating him the way they did.

This is a post about missing my Canucks.

Burr scored against the Finns, so that made me a tad happy. :)

Lu.

I love you, Lu. I’m saddened with this whole situation everyday I hear something new about it. I don’t think I understand it all, but he’ll always be perfect in my eyes.

I’m pretty upset right now.

The possibility of Luongo leaving. His willingness to waive his NTC because he wants to put the team first. Took so much criticism and handled them with stride. I’ll be heartbroken, but I want the best for him. He’s an epitome of a class act.

I’m also not changing my name.
